Those upper-line Magnatones were designed by Paul Bigsby, whom Semie Moseley apprenticed with for a short time. I guess the guitar business in Southern California in the '50's was quite small indeed, as there are lots of connections between Leo Fender, Paul Bigsby, Mosrite, Rickenbacker, Carvin, Standel...
