AAS Strikes Olrocknroller!

Postby olrocknroller » Mon Sep 05, 2011 11:04 pm

Yup, done went and did it I did. Sold my red mahogany Hagstrom, and a senior Roland Cube 30 amp, and no sooner got the check in my hand when I remembered a cute little amp I had been lusting over for some time now... I will soon be the proud owner of a new Tech 21 Trademark 60 amp. All the reviews I could find were glowingly positive, with very few negatives from people who use very different tone recipes for each of the two channels. Since I tend to go no farther than backup settings on Ch 1 and Lead settings on Ch 2 I don't forsee a problem there... Will update when the much anticipated delivery person has arrived... ;)

Not bad! Anyone else wanting one, there are a couple on eBay; http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4 ... Categories

I still have my solid state 90's Fender "Princeton 112 Plus". A 'great little' 65W amp that I sometimes even prefer over my Reissue Deluxe Reverb tube amp for playing lead. The Princeton's Drive channel sucks but the clean channel is really good...and friendly towards pedals too.

Hope you bond well with the Tech 21 Trademark 60 ;)

I've been using one for a few years now--I've got the Trademark 60 212, which I believe has been discontinued. At least, it's not showing up on their website--it looks like the only Trademark 60 combo they're making is the 112. At 48 lbs. it's light for a 2-12" combo, and has lots of good features, including FX loop in/out jacks on the underside of the chassis, so I can leave the cords plugged in--and a good-sounding XLR line out, which is also on the bottom of the chassis. It was a little tough to dial in initially, but once I realized that the dirty channel's midrange control (labelled "Growl") actually cuts mids as it's turned up it became much easier.
