Very stylish! Looks like you've made some room also for housing a Humbucker in the bridge position? ...We'll wait and see how it comes out when you're ready to show us your finished beauty in metallic black diplicolor finish :D

yeah, I ordered the body from a company that makes fender replacement bodies and necks. the first body was a popular body that split on me (long story)

which sucked cuz I really liked that popular body. It's a great sounding wood, despite how soft it is. I original ordered the guitar with a humbucker in the bridge, but it came with the single coil cut. ggrrrrr.... :!: :!: :!: :!: :|

Funny thing that you post those pics Aaron as forum member GTSP actually owns that guitar.

a small update on the strat. I removed the blue masking tape inside the control cavities and replaced it. I did this because I don't want the finish to be too thick inside the cavities when i remove the tape because this can start a crack in the finish. So before I let the finish build up too think I just replace it after spraying roughly 5 coats of clear. :D
after I replace all the tape I have spray 3 more coats of clear; this time heavier coats then before.

Hmmmm....that's gonna look good when the strings are on! How about the neck...all Maple or Rosewood fingerboard?
Don't tell...we'll wait and see :)

i got the neck already refinished, I finished it up in April before relocating our workshop. it's the original neck to the guitar, just replaced the satin finish with a neck amber colored glossy nitro finish.
I have the pickguard, and most of the parts (from my old strat) but I'm thinking of upgrading the electronics. so far I was thinking of a seymour duncan 59er in the bridge with a coil tap option and some hot fender noiseless single coils in the middle and neck positions.
since most single coils use a 250k volume pot and humbuckers use a 500k, I was thinking of adding a second volume just for the humbucker, and a master tone control, instead of the typical volume, tone, tone set up of a strat.
also thinking of adding a treble bleed mod for the single coils to get that extra fender twang, but still have decided on anything yet. if anyone have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them :D :D :D

Look forward in seeing it.

Hey Aaron, aren't you afraid of stripping those 2 (of the 4) neck screw holes with your temporary 'painting screws' ? ...just a thought :|
