I sprayed the color coat on today. Trying to mix the right shade of color from memory and looking at photos on the internet, this was about as close as I could get to the original. I think it's actually a little too dark but it is an "Ellison" not a Fender, so I guess it is the right color. I also printed up a water slide decal for the head stock from art work made by a member of another forum.

I agree that the guy made up a nice logo. I can't say much for the putrid color on the guitar body.

Hah! It's a tough thing to match colors. That's why in the graphics biz, we cheat and use numbers for colors.
Looks pretty authentic to me, though.

For what it's worth, here's the real deal for comparison. Photo wise it looks pretty darn close.

I downloaded the two photos-- yours and the original-- and, making allowances for the lighting, I'd say you pretty much nailed it!
By the way, nice airplane model in the back of your photo! I can remember as a kid when my dad bought a CAP-surplus Piper Cub or L5 or whatever it was called and replaced and doped the fabric on it. Wow, was that a pungent odor!!!

Re: Project: Duo Sonic
Danny, looks great! If the color isn't 100% correct, it sure has the right vibe. Give it a nice nitro clear coat and leave it out in the Bakersfield sun this summer and I bet it'll be spot on.
Great decal too!
