Danny, you are knocking this out of the park. When it's completed, please FedEx it to me for my birthday Saturday.
Always remember: It is better to give than to receive.
Thanks so much in advance--

Looks great Danny! What circuit are you going to use? The early neck/neck/bridge w/volume and blend, or neck/neck+bridge/bridge w/vol and tone?
Oy vey - it's MESHUGGA BEACH PARTY - The world's premier Jewish Surf Music Band!

I'm leaning towards the early blend setup. I'll give it a try but I'm guessing I won't be happy with it and will probably go with the more traditional wiring in the end. I just got my axial capacitors to make up the faux lookalikes, so that's next on the agenda.

I'll be curious to hear what you think of the blend circuit. Seems like it was an early take on three pre-set tones.

Re: Blackguard Telecaster
Hey--
I bought on eBay an early-1990s Japanese Tele clone for my birthday, and it should be here any day now.
Having never owned or really even played a Telecaster, I am intrigued by the two versions of the controls. I have no idea which version this guitar I have coming will have.
Can anyone easily point me to a website that describes these two versions of the tone controls? Will it be obvious which version I have when the guitar arrives?
This Tele clone is really a pig in a poke; the price was low because the photos, description, and auction heading were rather lackluster. So who knows what it'll be!!!
Washington, DC, was ground zero for some awesome Telecaster players (Gatton, Kirchen (sometimes), Buchanan) and I do love that stark and direct sound.

Re: Blackguard Telecaster
Jim, I'd really recommend spending some time perusing the the Telecaster forum, it is one of the BEST forums out there (besides this Mosrite forum
). Your guitar will no doubt have standard wiring which has tone control on each of the three switch settings, the blend wiring does not.
Here's the standard wiring currently being used.

Here's the blend control layout.

Re: Blackguard Telecaster
Thanks, Danny! I visit that Telecaster forum site, but mainly to see the builds on there. Once I get this Tele clone in my hands soon, it will all make more sense.
I just found a Google Books preview for The Fender Telecaster: The Detailed Story of America's Senior Solid Body by A.R. Duchossoir. It got me sidetracked! Of course, much is missing from the preview, but it's most interesting.
I'll be sure to check out those two links!

Looking great Danny. I haven't read the book or seen it except for online. I have seen that rout on various places on the web
