If this is in the wrong section please move it.
First show is coming up in 2 days. Pretty nervous. Big punk show. 4 bands from Allentown PA, a few from Bethlehem, and a few from Semie knows where!
I was playing for a few of my friends when I dropped my pick and had to play bare nail... not fun. I then thought to myself... TAPE!
Tape the picks to the pick gaurd. Duck tape. Good idea? Bad idea? Its not like I wil keep it on forever just before the show, play our 20 mins set, then take it off.

Far better to tuck a pick under the pickguard. There are also pick dispensors that attach to your guitar strap. Personally I leave a couple of spares on top of my amp. I haven't used tape but I'd be leary of glue gunk on my fingers and strings.

Like Mel said, tuck a couple under the edge of the pickguard. Loosen one of the screws just enough to be able to slide 'em under without too much force. Used to do it like that all the time. Looks kewl too.

I did that with my Strat. I guess I could do it to Jackie too (Eastwood)
Thanks a bunch.

There's a plastic clip from Dunlop that clips onto a mic stand and holds half-a-dozen picks. Duct tape is a bad idea, as it leaves a sticky residue on anything it touches. Most of the time when you see what looks like duct tape on stage, it's actually gaffer tape, which doesn't leave much residue. Personally, I wouldn't have tape anywhere near my guitar (except for one time when the output jack on my Tele refused to hold the plug on a gig, and I had to tape the plug in to get it to work).

In the book: 'Guitars That Shook the World' by Hal Leonard there's a great full page shot of Johnny's Mosrite which shows his spare picks attatched to the body by thin strips of gaffer tape.
So if it's good enough for Johnny ...

What the guys said and good luck with the show! Once you get past those first couple of 'shaky' minutes you'll rock the world

Just go out and play and have fun. Like EITwang said, first few minutes and it's all good after that. If you have fun then everyone will have fun. As for the picks, I keep some in my shirt pocket or on my amp.

Keep mine on a pick holder attached to my amp.
Normally never lose the one I play with though, just keep them in case
