It occurred to me that I've never seen a picture of Tom Petty with his Mosrite. Does anyone have a pic of him playing it? I heard its a Mark V model. I've also heard talk of him maybe owning a double neck, That was uncertain speculation though.

I don't know about Tom, but Mike Campbell has a Ventures model: pearl white/'shell guard. He plays it in his alter ego bar band, The Dirty Knobs. He plays all kinds of guitars in that band, but I have seen pics of him with the Mosrite.

Mike Campbell also owns a little 3/4 size 1950's singleneck Mosrite. It doesn't say anything on the headstock, and when they pictured it in Vintage Guitar a while back, they called it a Univox! ha ha!

Thanks for that. A Univox... Sounds like someone needs a history lesson! This may sound like a silly question but was that a mistake on Vintage Guitar's part or did Mike call it a Univox?

Re: Tom Petty's Mosrite?
Supposedly Mike and Tom have their own little "VAULT" in Ventura in which they keep their Doubleneck, a 12 String 'Ventures Model,' Mike's '65 P.W., and Tom's C.A.R. MARK V,
and the 'UNI' all locked up with their 'other 200 plus' strumming machines. Their 'VAULT' also includes a lot of other vintage musical equipment including Vintage Vox amplifiers,
Fender amplifiers, etc, etc.
After seeing Mike with his '65 Pearl White 'Ventures Model' many many years ago, I knew I had to have one and went nuts looking for a Pearl White Ventures Model. Who knew
that I would luck out and find such a beast and the same year?!?!?!?........I guess I lucked out before the 'Mosrite Collecting Boom' took off.......
