Woah, 600 tribute bands in Japan alone! That's very impressive. What awesome accolades!

Wow, thanks for posting the article.....such an impressive career they've had! I was just listening to The Fabulous Ventures album and The Ventures Knock Me Out album in my truck today, a couple of my favorites......what a gift their music is to so very many people all over the world........they deserve the wonderful recognition they received!

Like so many of us, The Ventures band was the reason I started playing guitar (The Beatles were the reason I kept playing). I live in Seattle, but grew up in western Montana and the northwest connection to some great bands (The Sonics, The Wailers--now The Fabulous Wailers-- and probably others) is cool. Those bands still play around here occasionally, but I don's do concerts any more.

"Weird Al" got me into the accordion and The Ventures got me into guitar, specifically Don Wilson's playing looked so cool and fun everytime I've watched them. I'd love to do rhythm but can't find anyone in my area that knows lead. Right now roles are reversed for me in my band. Love the lead stuff too but Don just makes Rhythm cool!
