I get the picture KRamone27…but picture ME standing next to Rancid or some other like-bands and I’ll stick out like a sore thumb (just check my Avitar). When I was their age though, I had a lot more Hair…! LOL

Great energetic beat (especially “Ruby-Soho”) and the type of bass sound I adore! Good musicians!
Good thing about music, it reminds us that we should never judge anyone by the way they look…and thankfully it has no language or age barrier. Keep on rockin’

a little side note: Tim Armstrong, the guy that plays the hollow body guitars have a nice mosrite collection. He has mostly celebrities and Joe Maphis models if I remember right.

following this thread with interest and now finally replying directly to your question gogoriotgirl, instead of one of the reactions, let me first say, I'm from the Ventures era so you must allow for my loyalty to them and my other roots but I do like MANY other styles too.
E.G. how about ...The Clash: "Should I Say Or Should I Go" and Republica: "Ready To Go", "Drop Dead Gorgeous") I'm sure there's so much more to discover but I'm checking out the Ramones first!
Wow, I'm surprised they made so many songs! Listening to their driving upbeat tempo and CATCHY(!) voices makes it hard to sit still, LOL (Is the lead singer the much heralded Johnny Ramone? I can understand his appeal I think).
The first song I began listening to started with "Hey-O- let's go"... heck, you'll probably know it's title... others so far:
Sheena Is A Punk Rocker, All Screwed Up, Bop Till You Drop, and their nice version of "CALIFORNIA SUN"! (the Ventures covered this one too)

Haven't finished (listening) yet but in two days time I'm off on holiday first, so I'll be offline for about for 5 weeks or so...

Yeah all of those are great starting points. Joey Ramone was the singer Johnny Ramone was the guitarist. The guy holding the micrphone in the picture above is Joey.
