I'm a fan for that 60's Ventures sound too and when I was looking for a decent TUBE amp recently, I found myself facing a difficult choice between the Fender Custom Vibrolux Reverb Reissue (40 watts) and the Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb (22 watts). The latter was/is used by so many musicians in the studio because of it's full fat traditional Fender tone at low volumes and it's quite loud actually for gigs but of course it can always be miced* for larger venues and you do have that Vintage Sound.
I chose eventually the former (40 watt amp) because of it's cosmetics and it's a taller amp with tilt-back feature and I fancy the cool white knobs. More importantly it has more power and the two 10-inch speakers provide more headroom, cutting through the mix better). Also this 40 watt baby has the Reverb and Tremelo in BOTH channels, which is cool.
