This clip is for you fuzz freaks. I.B. was the heaviest band in the world in 1967 I don't mean heavy metal I mean heavvvvvvy man. I think it is Danny Weiss on guitar I can hear his licks, he played a Mosrite Ventures Vox Super Beatle and the Fuzzrite. the vocals are a little low but, that fuzz whoa!

Brutus,
Yes I remember early Iron Butterfly, you're probably right it sounds like the Heavy (maybe pre Heavy) lineup with Danny Weiss before Erik Braunn. I still like the guitar & bass especially from those earlier recordings, knew EB played a Ventures model but didn't know DW did. Gives new meaning to 'speed frets'. I'm hearing two different tones or possibly effects, one definitely sounds like the Fuzzrite but theres another interesting sound in there as well. Never heard that one before, thanks for posting.

I seem to recall hearing that Eric had bought Danny's whole rig (Vox Super Beatle and the Mosrite) when he joined I.B.......
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

The fuzz in the Vox amp is what it sounds like he's using.

Thats right Dennis, E.B. also bought some stage clothes. Basically tried to clone D.W..
Jtr654 I have a Vox Buckingham with fuzz, it doesn't sound like that. But I guess it could be possible.

I guess it depends upon how you set up the treble, midrange, and bass controls (EQ).
However, I DID GET that sound when I had my VOX Royal Guardsman Amp along with
my '67 S.B. Mosrite (w/ 'the Ventures' logo) many years ago (roughly around 25 years ago?).
And yes, it WAS with the VOX FUZZ onboard the Vox Amp, not the Mosrite 'FUZZrite.'
