SEMIE MOSELEY & THE VENTURES AT OPENING OF HARD ROCK CAFE

Hey Gang: I have not seen this photo's in years. I had forgot about these. Semie
in 1989 I believe (I will check exact date.) called me one night, asked me if I could
pick him up at the Airport. He was coming into town to present the HARD ROCK
CAFE a Silver Presention Ventures Model in LaJolla, CAlif. The VENTURES were going
to be there and would I like to attend. I of course said yes. I asked Semie where was
he staying? I remember before letting him answer saying, I will be right down to bring
you out to the house to stay. He OK. I have several pictures I will Submit. Time
allowing I will get a few up tonight. The first one will be Semie and The Ventures. This
was the first time in years the Ventures would appear with Semie as a group. These are not digital photo's and are taken from old film. So bare with me. It's
all we got. This was History being made after so many years. Oh yes the Press was
there.

The next one should draw comments. The Silver Presentation Mosrite Venture Model
is signed by the Ventures. Signatures on the guitar can be seen. Taken of course
inside the HARD ROCK, LaJolla, Calif.

This photo shows Semie and I arriving at The Hard Rock Cafe. I have no idea who
is on the left. I remember him being a member of the Press.

This photo maybe should have been first. This photo was taken as Semie and I were
getting ready to leave the house for the Event at The Hard Rock Cafe Opening. Check
out the Venture Model Semie brought out for me "now that's my color ". I love that guitar.
It's pictured right in front of us.

Report on the event: The place was jammed every Venture fan I think wanted in that
night. This is So. Calif. what else would you expect. It was well reported in the press.
All I can say looking back on this time, "Man I love this job" !

I thought I might update with a photo of Thom Bresh, Myself and Nokie Edwards at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society (CAAS) in Nashville. Thom is of course Merle Travis son.
This event is held every JULY right after Fan Fair in June.

Sorry Rocco, the Ramones are cool, but this is History in the "Mosrite Era" and this
PIC with Uncle Semie and "the Ventures" after all those years......IS HISTORY".....

OH yes Dennis I agree. It was a big deal and History. Everyone there knew it. The crowd
was great. This is one of those milestones I will never forget I knew what was happing
that night I was honored that Semie ask me to be there.

Not trying to 'compete' in this thread, but Semie presented a 1989 Ventures Style (might of said 'the Ventures Model') to Don Wilson to 'patch up' their differences
during this time frame. The guitar was a Sunburst with the WHITE P'up covers and rings and a natural finish on the Headstock. I have a Close Friend of mine down in
Miami that actually recorded some Video of this concert up in the Northern part of Florida before the Security Guys got wind of what he was doing and interveened.....
Do you by chance remember such a guitar back in 1989, and if so, I would LOVE to know what happened to it. Some folks say that Don still has it. Others say it got
lost during some type of 'fancy' shipping ......

DENNIS my friend you JUMP in any old time. I LOVE our dialogue. I do not remember
that guitar. I will look into it or if one of the Forum members might know. I do know
that Nokie and Semie had got together before this date. Don, I am not sure. Back in those
days as earlier, I spoke with Semie fairly often. Some times weekly. I simply do not remember. HELP if anyone
knows.
