Thanks, Danny!

Wonderful stuff!!! To me, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, and George Jones are about as good as it gets! Now, I do have to include Ernest Tubb and Roger Miller, and of course, Hank.

DON'T GET ME STARTED!

In the "newer" vein, there was my cousin, Gram Parsons, who went to heck in a handcart.

We have been lucky to live in such wonderful times, musically.

I play that kind of music every week. It is what the people around here expect from us. Yes Don Rich was truly an amazing guitar play, and to think he didn't even play guitar until after joining up with Buck. He was a great fiddle player. We did a special stage show last summer foe just Merle Haggard music and have a legends show scheduled for this summer covering songs by most of the early greats that includes all that have been mentioned here. I love the early rock music but love to play Classic Country Music.

That's the stuff that got me into country music back around 1970. It doesn't get any better than Haggard and Jones! I was fortunate enough to have played with George in late-'78--I was in the house band at the Possum Holler club in Nashville, and George would come in and sit in with us. Sometimes he'd bring his band, other times he'd get up with us. He was pretty out-of-it sometimes, but it was still a big thrill to be onstage with him. I'm glad he finally put his demons behind him--he's truly one of the greats.
