Was listening to Pandora just now and a song popped up and this was the album cover, I looked it up to get a better look and these are def. Mosrites:

Anyways, anyone know more about them? I've heard some of their stuff but I don't listen to them frequently like I do the Ventures so I'm not too fimilar with the group, did they do alot of Mosrite stuff at one time?
Anyways just a cool find

That album cover has been seen before on the forum. I remember it drawing some comments about the guys' expressions in this take
When you use the search button (top of forum page at the right) you'll be sure to find some reading by typing in "Davie Allan".

He used his Jazzmaster on the whole Blues Theme album. Sundazed did a fantastic reissue of his first 3 albums and there was a lot of gear info in the cover/pamphlet. If you really like the Ventures I'd recommend as a good Davie introduction his first album Apache '65. Great album, but there is no fuzz. Blues Theme and Cody's Theme are a must.

As a side, Davie himself is a really cool guy and very accessible. He answers messages on facebook and he used to have a yahoo group. When Sundazed reissued his first three albums I ordered them through him and they came personally signed.

Wasn't there a thread on here about someone who actually owned Davie's original Mosrite?

Davie is a must for all Ventures/Mosrite nuts.
Apossibleworld owns the the double neck shown on Blues Theme. Davie passed on it. Why I don't know, I would like to know what was needed to fix it.

Davie's "William Tell Overture" on that album is amazing.

yep, it's mine. He sold it to a music store around 1970, and the store promptly closed and the guitar remained in storage for almost 40 years. When it was unearthed, his fans helped him buy it back, but the guitar had issues that he didn't want to bother fixing, so he returned it, and I bought it. I got it all fixed it up, and it's a great guitar, not to mention a cool piece of history. I've had several friends become interested in Mosrites after playing it.
The place I got it from has a white Ventures bass that supposedly was in the Arrows also, and I believe it's still available. PM me for info.

Davie also had a blue Ventures model. You can see it in a clip on utube from the TV series The Invaders.
Apossibleworld, if you ever feel motivated, I know there are forum members here that would love to see a picture or two of the doubleneck now that it's been fixed up.

Hey, upon closer inspection of this album clover, I see one in the background with a black headstock that looks like a Celebrity to me. I must investigate further!
