Have I got a video for you! 3 minutes of fun and laughter and a historic moment in our lives: interacting with the legenday Johnny Carson!

THE TONIGHT SHOW Starring Johnny Carson moved from NYC to Los Angeles in May 1972. For its last NYC show my wife Linda, who was working at the time for Al Brodax, was given 2 tickets. Al got the tickets from his friend Ed McMahon and Al didn't feel like attending.

Linda and I arrived early enough to be close to the front of the line. An usher or page came out with a clipboard and asked the people ahead of us if they wanted to play Stump The Band. We became ecstatic at the prospect of being selected so when the usher asked us we jumped at the chance. Then we noticed that as the usher wrote our names down he placed a few X marks next to Lin's name. You'll see in the video why and, possibly, why we were called first by Johnny after we were strategically seated.

As you'll hear we got an admission letter to the Royal Box at the then Americana hotel and we were treated royally with a fantabulous dinner, waiters popping up out of thin air holding lighters whenever Lin took out a cigarette and, best of all, we enjoyed the music of Marian McPartland with a rare coupling with her husband cornetist Jimmy McPartland.

So enjoy my pretty Linda (play on the spanish word for pretty: linda) as she befuddles Johnny, triggers Doc's horniness, and treats everyone to a cute ditty, with me popping up for the chorus, also affecting Johnny. A good time was had by all. Unfortunately, Linda forgot to tell Johnny that her boss, Al Brodax, produced the animated feature "YELLOW SUBMARINE"!
