The forum seems very slow lately. Is it maybe too hot to work on projects. It sure is here.
High Desert in So. California, hasn't been much below 95 in 6 or 7 weeks.

With over 45,800 posts on this site I'm guessing everyone is simply talked out. It's not just here, it's slow on a lot of forums I visit. But you're right, it's too hot to work in the shop.

Re: Just too hot to work on stuff.
Work is keeping me busy. This is my last week working for the law firm and I'm kinda sad about that. I'll be starting a new job on Monday as a Quality Assurance Manager. It's what I've doen for years until being laid off in 2006. With manufacturing being off so poorly during the recession there just weren't very many jobs in QA available. The salary will be signifcantly better than I'm getting now so all of that is a big plus. I'll miss working with my attorney nonetheless.
This forum has been unusally quiet for some reason. Everyone busy I guess. The two Gretsch forums I belong to have been hopping quite a bit actually.

Good luck with the new job Sarah. Sometimes a career change is a refreshing change.
As for the forum being slow, Mosrite is only a small niche in guitar fame and following. The Telecaster forum and the ReRanch forum are hopping. The Surf Guitar forum is about on speed with this forum. We've had several new members join this forum over the past few weeks but they haven't had much to say. Basically most everyone is a lookie loo.

Slow everywhere, I think. If I were any slower, I'd have to speed up to stop.

Our heatwave seems to have passed. At least temporarily. A couple of weeks ago it was 85 in the house even with the AC running. My latest work has been getting all my guitars insured, finally! Long overdue.

Let's not confuse quantity with quality... This forum always seems to have interesting, quality postings, and I would like to see it stay on that level. I'm working on a design for a fully adjustable bridge and tailpiece unit made out of brass. If it ends up anything more than a pile of brass shavings on the floor, I'll post that sometime in the future. Kind of laid up right now; had surgery on my hand to relieve a trigger finger...

Re: Just too hot to work on stuff.
I've been away for a while pursuing other interest and haven't had a lot of time for guitars. I even sold 2 of them plus my marshall jcm900. But guitar has always been a very important part of my life and building them is one of my favorite hobbies and with the weather and lack of orders I gave up there for a while . I don't have a lot of disposable income to just build guitars so I rely on deposits from customers to get projects started. Thanks to Chris (dustyfloor) for hooking me up with someone wanting to use one of my guitars for a calender photoshoot. Now I have motivation to start a new project and hopefully get some regional (possibly national) recognition.
