Re: Screen Names
Thunderhead refers to my Premiere Appalachian Surf Band, "The Thunderheads" and also is THE ONLY Premier Appalachian Surf Band!!!! We have cornered the market in these parts!!!! If you ever heard of Blues Rocker Jimmy Thackery, he wrote us a cool Surf tuned called "LandLocked"!!!It's a tribute to the scenery around here!!! Hey DubTrub, I had the pleasure of playing with SRV's former band Double trouble a couple of times back in the late 90's. It was a real treat, I came up playing the Blues in the 1980's and SRV was a God Send. I toured with several Blues Recording Artist and got to live my dream of being a Full-Time Touring Blues Musician for over 25 years. Didn't get rich but actually made a very comfortable living while I was at it and got to Tour the World, over 20 Countries. Now I'm at home in East Tennessee with my Wife, 6 yr. Old Son and my Mosrite Playing Surf Band!!!! So glad I found this Forum. "Surf Long and Prosper" - Billy Crawford

Just yesterday I was sending a text to a partner of mine and didn't know the correct spelling of Haole.

Because he would have given me Grief if I would have mis-spelled it, I just killed the Text and called him.

Mahalo Haole Jim, and welcome.

Re: Screen Names
LOL double dutch! Dubbele tong bedoel je? "va' sa' du? va' hete' du?" is my usual sig for internetforums. So if you come across it on another platform, it's probably me! Even if the nick is different from the one I'm using here, which is my own firstname. The line is my clumsy attempt to written form of spoken Swedish. It used to be; "Vaaaaaad säger du? Vad heter du?" meaning "Whaaaaaaaaat did you say? What's your name?". When on vacation in Sweden a couple years back when I wasn't as proficient as I thought I was
some children asked me my name, the way small kids do; "vad heter duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu?" I answered my name was Olav. They apparantly didn't understand because they went on to ask me; "Vaaaaaaad säger du? Vad heter du?" It's kind of my way of reminding myself feet are best placed on the ground.
Doe any of this make sense?

Re: Screen Names
Ha, ha, nice story with anecdotes Olav.
I don't know any Swedish myself but I'm amazed at the similarities there are to Dutch and especially German. I feel proud of myself that I could actually figure out your Swedish flavoured slogan! Thanks for sharing
PS "Dubbele tong bedoel je?" means: having had a little too much to drink...(I think)...hic..

It's a hyperlink using the URL feature on the forum. Search the internet for how to's. It's hard to explain.
