Re: FORGET ABOUT MOSRITE!!!
Apart from collecting guitars I like watching horror movies and I sometimes play in my band 'Rocks' which was one of the first punk bands from Australia. We've been going on and off now for thirty years and there's no end in sight yet.I am also a cartoonist and sculptor / model maker.I produce my own monster model garage kits and have also done kits of The Ramones. That's it for me.

Warning! Resurrected thread!
Thank you for sharing.
When not playing the Mk I or one of the others, other things which fit into this life are writing (one novel out, another near, other projects), some painting / drawing, much reading / self-continuing education (too lazy to go back to school for PhD, right now), teaching 8th grade religious education, bass player for church band (160 Masses and services, to date), scale modeling....

Re: FORGET ABOUT MOSRITE!!!
Wow, I totally overlooked this thread. Thanks for the resurrection!
When not playing guitars or cleaning them or just sitting staring at them, I have other hobbies. I love riding my motorcycle. I have a 1983 Suzuki GR650 Tempter. It's currently an ugly green but I hope to have it painted this year. I don't own a car so my bike is my main transportation. I do have access to my roommates car so if I have to take guitars somewhere I borrow hers. Last year, she and her boyfriend and I all rode our bikes from California to Michigan and back. We were gone a month all together. That is a trip that I will always remember!
My second passion is working with wood. I learned how to use woodworking tools from my dad. I do everything from making cabinets to taking out walls and putting in new ones. I think the only thing I've never done on a house is the heating/cooling.
I've been doing stained glass projects for a hobbie since my 20's and love creating things and giving them away as gifts.
I am part Native American and know alot about my culture as well as making traditionals items that I either keep or give away.
My newest hobby is working on guitars. I am just beginning a radical guitar modification that I've had in mind for quite a while. Even though I have quite a few guitars, each one is very unique with it's own voice. I've been wanting to modify a Gretsch G3155 Streamliner with the Cat's eye sound holes but never had the heart to cut up a perfectly good guitar. I finally found a trashed out one on eBay and my project is born. I think I've already posted a thread on that, but in short, I'm adding two additional sound holes, moving all of the knobs, adding a third pickup, changing the binding and color, and whatever else I dream up. Once it gets going I'll continue to post pictures of the progress!
Okay, that's what I do for fun.

I collect spores, molds and fungus.
No, That isn't right...
I'm interested in Photography, Lucid Dreaming, Reading, Music, Guitar Repair, Building Guitars and talking with friends. I'm interested in exercising and eating healthy too. Oh, I also like to turn off all the lights I can as soon as I'm done using them.

Hey Mosman, you ever tour or play with the Radio Birdmen? One of the very first "punk" type of bands I ever heard. If memory serves me correct, they were from Australia. Aloha Steve and Dano was on a mix tape that was given to my sister.
As for me, I'm a proud dad of a 2 year old boy named Nolan & a 4 yr old girl named Grace. Finding time to even touch my guitars I'm thankkful.

Re: FORGET ABOUT MOSRITE!!!
We never played with Radio Birdman but we did a few shows with their offshoot band the New Christs, the most recent being earlier this year.
Most of the Birdmen are still playing in various bands here and there and they still pack'em out whenever there's a Birdman reunion show.

Re: FORGET ABOUT MOSRITE!!!
Well, at this very moment I'm at the Rendezvous Bar in Juneau waiting for a flight home. This morning I woke up from my nap aboard the southbound flight from Anchorage in time to witness some extraordinary views of mountains, glaciers, frozen lakes and white river ribbons from the comfort of seat 7A.
And in the remaining minutes of my time in Alaska's capital, I hope another fight doesn't materialize at this second class drinking establishment. The last one passed by my table as a majority of the male patrons escorted one of their own to the door for shoving a lady. And yet I think the lady could've taken him, as she pushed him first and seemed to display a level of testosterone in proportion to her ambitious consumption of alcohol.
I've been traveling around installing video confencing equipment to connect the three offices maintained by the organization I work for. My work is primarily technical, but I'm a generalist and am ultimately responsible for keeping twenty-some other people from encountering obstacles on their paths toward daily productivity. And I'll be reading a packet this weekend as I prepare for my role on the city council as we'll be meeting soon to do the city's business.
It's snowing now. I hope my plane is still flying.

Thanks for that humerous account handbrake; you've got writing talent!handbrake wrote:...at this second class drinking establishment. Man, talk about flying (especially time), it must have been close to 20 years now since I was in Alaska. I had the good fortune to keep the flight crew company in the cockpit of a KLM Boeing 747 on the way home and I had an excellent view of the besnowed mountains and all the other ground features. It was most enjoyable and the captain invited me to stay with 'em …the entire journey home to Amsterdam!!
Now those were different times...
