I was doing some searches of hallmark guitars and mosrites and this came up.

Cool pick...but, that's the lightest colored rosewood I've ever seen.

Looks like a 60s Single neck 'Joe Maphis' or a 'Combo' Body being cut...... 

make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

It does look like it doesn't it Dennis, you can see the routing for the binding on the top and back as well as the beginning of the German carve. Trent you are correct that doesn't look like rosewood at all.

Way too light for rosewood. It is a newspaper article, and based on personal experience, reporters are not as accurate as they would like you to believe. The reporter probably took the factory tour and was also shown "rosewood fretboards" being made, and made assumptions or took bad notes...or both.
