Amp tech section

Postby dubtrub » Tue May 18, 2010 11:32 pm

I'm curious if there would be enough support to open up an amp/electronics technical section for anything related to electronics regardless of manufacture. If there is such an interest, we would need a volunteer that is knowledgeable in the technical aspect of electronics to moderate this section. If the general membership is interested in seeing an amp tech section on the Mosrite forum, please advise here. Additionally, If anyone feels they are technically qualified to moderate the section and handle Q&As, please send me a pm for consideration.

Hey, Danny--

I tried to vote "Yes" to the survey, twice, but got messages that my "submission was invalid."

Whatever that means! I'm used to women telling me that, but not Web browsers.

I got the same message.

I vote "Yes". It is an area I would read with great interest.

Another glitch as a result of the phpbb upgrade. Polling feature is not working so I took it down for now. On a positive note, we have not had one spammer register on the forum since the upgrade. At least one good thing is working.

At any rate let your opinions be known here on this topic.

ooooooh boy  . I guess I'm gonna be the 'bad guy' here. The only reason I would vote no on this subject, is that I have
a weird feeling about people signing up on the Forum just to be able to discuss Every Amp That Was Ever Made.
I'm probably wrong about this, but I'm wandering if we might be opening up a whole new can of worms.......
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

Clint Eastwood would say 'worms have gotta eat too'.

Well, if it were limited to discussing Mosrite amps only it would be a dead forum. KRamone27 asked a technical question about problems with his Marshall amp. Probably everyone else on the forum uses amps other than a Mosrite and many may not visit amp techie guru forums. So, I thought it might be logical for members to discuss their electronic issues here on the forum where they are more comfortable in asking/participating. It's not a done deal, I'm just trying to find out if there was an interest to make it worthwhile implementing a tech section.
