That's all very cool stuff! I don't care how high tech the kitchen is, you still can't put your sneakers on the countertop! I'm disappointed that the popcorn bowl doesn't have a built in warmer. I like warm popcorn. :mrgreen:

The more I see this kind of thing, the more I fear that we are moving away from "control" of the elements of our lives at a terrifying pace.

Most of us here remember being able to maintain and repair most of the things in our lives with the tools and supplies readily available in our workshops and hardware stores. These things weren't all that sophisticated, but WE could keep them working... Today, "doesn't work" is usually remedied by the shortest distance to the garbage can...

My question is, what happens in this scenario when suddenly replacements are not available, due to collapse of the supply chain, or inflation of prices to the point where they are not attainable? Not only will "repair" not be an option, but the skills to create substitutes will also be lost...

No wonder I love to go out into my shop and tinker with some old guitar that is in need of my help.

Hmmm. And I just figured out how to fix the blinking 12:00 on my VCR. :shock:
