Anyone else ever do this? How were the end results after healing and about how long was it before you somewhat back to normal? This is the most painfull thing I have ever been through and that includes breaking my back years ago.

Hey, Mark--

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!! In my experience, how old a person is has much to do with recovery time and complications. When I was in my teens, I had several broken bones and healing was a six-week process with no lasting problems.

A year and a half ago (age 59), I tripped on a buckled sidewalk and cracked my elbow, a bone in my hand, and my thumb joint, and it was fully a year before I had close to full mobility in my hand. It also resulted in a bit of arthritis, which is annoying.

Old age is not an unmitigated joy.

Whoever called "senior-dom" the golden years, missed by a bit...it may be silver, but remember, silver tarnishes unless it is regularly treated to a polishing, so make sure you arrange for regular TLC! :P

hope you get better soon Mark. I recently badly messed up my right hip. nothing broken, but I think I may have slightly dislocated it because it popped a lot when I walked. a few days after this happen I began getting terrible pains from that joint and it spread to the muscles around it. It's been so painful I have missed work for the better part of a month. I see the doctors tomorrow, but it's slowly getting better. the thing is I don't even know how it happened. weird!

Your doc may want to have it x-rayed. Hope you have a full recovery soon.
