string spacing
Hello..........What are the string spacing at the nut and bridge for a Mark I Ventures style ? and what is the nut made of ? Brass ?

It's not a dumb question. The distance from the outside of the high E to the low E on my '66 Ventures model is 1 9/32" and the nut/string guide is chrome plated brass.

no questions are dumb here, if you have the stew-mac nut spacing rule, use the smallest spacing, which is actually larger than the mosrite spacing , which was always the big complaint about mosrites . (too close)

i ordered a guide from japan one time and noticed it was a lot more narrow then my mark ii or my VII's, so they werent all the same. agreed, not a dumb question. in fact I wish there was a thread that went into this topic at great length.

interesting, just for grins I compared the 5 spacers that I have here. 2 of them are 1980s, and these are spaced slightly wider than the 1960s ones, i guess because the 1980s necks are a bit wider....
