Eddy, i think it's safe to say, if it's crafted by your hands, everyone on here is interested. 8-)

The body is the easy part, the neck is the pain to do.

Necks are hard to do? :?:
How dare you presume to inject, using reproducible facts and rational thought, an on-topic discussion into a thread that had degenerated from sarcasm, personal invective, and hand-waving arguments?

Woodchuck is right, bodies are fairly easy to make "8th grade wood shop project"
But it take alot more skill and time to make a good neck
that dosn't have any issues. It's just like playing the guitar, the more you practice
the better you get. ;)
By the way Raygun, how's that first guitar comming a long? Anxiously waiting
for the unveiling.

All the Best!
Eddy

Hey Eddy,

can you make a Celebrity body? More specifically, if I wanted to make my own double neck Celebrity guitar, could you make the body for it if I design it?

Good luck with that project Sarah. Do you have any idea how difficult that project would be? Making all the jigs to form the tops and sides of the body for only one guitar would be a gigantic task. That's why most builders stick to building solid body guitars as templates are fairly easy to make. But anything is possible for enough money.

Thanks, Danny. I figured that would be the case. Yes, I'm aware of the molds necessary to make an archtop guitar and it wouldn't be cost effective for just one guitar. I would imagine that someone who makes archtop guitars a lot versus someone who rarely makes them would be more proficient at it.

Considering the prices of Ibanez, Gretsch, Epiphone, and others it would definately be a market difficult to compete in. I think for such an ongoing project to be viable it would have to target a higher end player and be a top notch guitar to boot.

This project would be a labor of love for me, so I'll likely have to make the molds myself. I'd love to have a double neck Celebrity. I could by a Gretsch 6120 double neck or a Duo Jet double neck and I'm sure they are wonderful guitars. But, they aren't a Celebrity.

For now, it's a dream and I don't know if it will ever get off the ground. But, it doesn't hurt to ask, that's how I learn. When I'm finished with Bennedetto's book I'm going to try to make my own mold so we'll see how that goes. I do know that double neck will be very difficult and may never happen. We'll see.

Don't want to sound like I'm trying to discourage you. I was just pointing out some observations from my perspective.
