Danny;
If it weren't for you my friend, I'd never have attempted it. I may make another just to try to get it completely right.
Dan
Thanks for your pointers.

Re: Venture a Guess ?
That looks awesome Dan! I can't tell from the photo, but did you put the bridge height adjustment screws on this one?

Re: Venture a Guess ?
The bridge height adjusting screws are mounted to the plate and then into the top of the guitar, the threaded brackets are going to be a tight fit into the tremolo, so I didn't put them on it yet. I considered tapping the plate for the screws, but decided to do it this way. If I do another, the plate will be tapped for the height adjusting screws. The plate is counter bored so it's a flush fit.

Re: Venture a Guess ?
In case anyone is curious as to how the tremolo arm is mounted. Here is a photo.
It's a 3/8-16 set screw, a fiber washer for a type of clutch to keep the arm from moving and to protect the metal from gouging each other. The head of the nyloc nut, also acts as a guide for the spring.

Re: Venture a Guess ?
Thank you for the detail! It's very interesting. Are you using aluminum? What is the fibre washer made of? If the washer doesn't work for you, a trick I learned (from this forum I think) is to make the washer from that plastic material they make a six pack holder from. It allows you to tighten down pretty well and still swivel the arm.

Right now it's a fiber gasket material. Really too course for the purpose. I have a thin sheet of white Teflon I might try that.
