I was not able to find a perfect match for the acorn nuts on my MIJ copies ... I looked at HD and Lowe's, but nothing exactly fit. The alternative is to drill and tap the bridge saddles for more standard-size screws - not that difficult to do, either.

If you want I can just send you one of these nuts, its no big deal, if it doesnt fit then try re-tapping to suit. Like Danny says, its only a cosmetic deal...

Problem solved!! :D After I couldn't find the right acorn nut at Home Depot(not even close), I went back to our local, family hardware store, except this time I asked for help. And wouldn't you know it, we found it - I couldn't believe it! I brought with me one of the bridge saddle pieces, and sure enough the nut fit. Only thing is that it is stainless steel instead of brass like on my guitar, but all I care is that it works. It is metric, but unfortunately I forgot what size it was - I remember hearing M3 and also .40mm but I don't know if that was it. I'll check on my next visit there. But anyway, I did locate the acorn nut, plus I bought an extra. Those things were $1.50 apiece. If anybody ever needs one of these, let me know. Thanks to everybody for your help! :)

Hey guys,
I did mention you can get metric acorn nuts at McMaster-Carr but must quality that statement. They do have a good selection but not that size. And Danny's right, Home Depot or Lowe's doesn't carry metric sizes. And once again, Bob Shade from Hallmark could probably help you on this as well.

Next day- The acorn nuts that come on the Hallmark Mosrite are: m3.5 x 0.6 (Not available at McMaster-Carr)

The nuts on the Excellent bridge appear to be a smaller size. I didn't have any way to gauge them. Possibly an M3 x 0.5 which M-C does have.

Terry, you're correct in that the acorn nut I ended up getting was an M3. It was just a smidgeon taller than the original MIJ nut and it is stainless steel, so it doesn't quite look right, but it does fit. I'm just gonna live with it for now.
