I'm glad we could help out. I think you may actually have one of the most versatile Mosrite-esque guitars in the world, maybe even THE most. Maybe I'll come out watch a Meshugga show some time so I can see it in action. ;)

Ah he.., I think there's going to be a Mosrite coppy being made in my shop next winter, and I will do Mosley proud, you hooked me on the sound of those pups.

We have a lot of other irons in the fire right now but call me in about 2 weeks when I have a little more time and we can wind a set of the Charlatan Strat-sized pickups for you. Throw in some 500K audio taper pots and .050 disc cap and it'll have a lot more twang, I promise. ;)

Hay raygun85, I've got 10k pups in her now with 500 ohm auto taper pots and an orange drop cap. You think changeing the cap will make that much differance?

No, not at all. I prefer Orange Drop caps myself but most vintage enthusiasts prefer the ceramic discs. The only difference with the Charlatans from normal Strat pickups is that we use 43 gauge wire (like Mosrite pickups) which gives more twang and even distorts a little more because of the thinner wire. The bobbin we designed is also shallower than a typical Strat and though the inside of the coil is closer together inside the pickup cover, its the same width all the way around from the inside diameter to the outside diameter as the RH-100 Mosrite pickup, which gives it more of that plucky punch that you hear in soapbar pickups - not exactly the same sound but a very nice alternative if you want something closer than a typical Strat pickup. Just to top it off we use adjustable Phillips-head polepieces and two narrow Alnico V bar magnets with an opposing field, South-up polarity just like the RH-100's. I'll try to post a video demo when I have time. Seeing it is one thing but hearing it is totally different. I wasn't sure it would really work, I was really surprised that it came so close.

Hay raygun do think that one guage in wire size would make the differance in the sound? He.. I'm really getting confused now, thought that it was mostly due to resistance in the coil, or the number of wraps around the pol pieces like 8000 wraps compaired to 16000 for more twang in the sound?
