My wife is from the same tribe. They somehow do not appreciate certain types of fine art.

p.s. Danny, that's coming out really nice! ;)

Danny, the project is looking fantastic. That will be one super guitar!

It looks like Mrs. Jelly Sanders really likes those early solid body double necks. Kinda brings a whole new meaning to the term "solid body"......

Here's the latest photo taken last Thursday. I have been away on a camping trip over the weekend and haven't had a chance to wire and string it but hopefully tomorrow if I get all my 'chores' done. ;)

Coming on nicely dubtrub.
Just looking at the headstocks again, they don't appear to be as "off-set" as the Mosrite headstocks we're used to seeing and the same goes for the tuning pegholes -they seem to face each other at right angles if you follow what I'm trying to say. Not that it is important...just an observation. Perhaps it's an optical illusion?

Paul,

The early double necks and Mosrites in general did not have the off set M shaped headstock. That was a design Semie implemented when he started the with the Ventures contract.

This one belongs to collector Michael Marks and is dated as a '59.

Very interesting Danny, I hadn't noticed that until seeing your build to be honest! I'm learning all the time  .
Thanks for explaining ...and with some good pictures too! ;)

She's a real knockout. I can't wait to see her with finish.

Well it still looks the same but it is now a playable guitar. It sounds fantastic with the modified Hallmark p'ups with the pole pieces changed to slightly larger 6X32 American machine Fillister head screws as was on the original Mosrite. Apparently the larger screws gives it more magnetic pull as it sounds virtually the same as my '64 and '66 Mosites. Also going with a longer 15 inch octave scale made it much easier to play compared to the shorter scale on Doug Brewers double neck. The next photo's will be the sun burst finished product.
