hey guys n dolls

i am gonna replace my bridge because the roller bridge does not stay in tune also because ive been told a good bridge can create more sustain and get better tone.... any suggestions?
also the neck pickup on my mosrite MIJ excellent is muddy but fuzzy ... i would like it still fuzzy but less muddy and more trebly, i was thinking maybe a humbucker.... any suggestions?

Tuning issues are unlikely caused by the bridge. Try lubricating the string guide.
For the pickups, have you tried moving them away from the strings? It can have a dramatic effect on tone.

tuning issues doesn't matter because i have a tuner, the innotation is perfect and the pickups have been adjusted and played with extensively with the same result. the early mij excellent's had dodgy pickups, i like the sound of the bridge pickup sounds very johnny ramone but the neck pickup is too bassy and sounds muddy.
i have been thinking of a tuneomatic bridge but there has to be something better.

I've got a one piece aluminum flip mute bridge on my MeshuggaMark. It's got more clarity and attack than the roller bridge since the whole thing is one piece. You do lose the intonation adjustment, which I find is only an issue on the unwound G, and even then not a terrible issue. As a bonus I've even got the mute working pretty well. Both Hallmark and Ed Elliott make this style of bridge, which has the same post spacing as the roller style.
For pickups, the standard Hallmarks are good, the handwound M3 and Elliotts are tops.
