I'm about to replace one of the bearings on my 1968 mosrite. It has been missing since I purchased it. One of the previous owners stuck a bit of rubber pipe in there to make up for the lack of a proper bearing.
I have the Torrington(sp?) bearing in hand.
Is there anything special I should know before starting this project?
btw, what is the correct string cage for a 1968 mosrite? And how heavy can I go, without worry? I'm probably going to get a professional setup done after I fix the bearing problem.

I can not answer your question, however, I would love to see pictures of the process as you change out the bearing.
