A little Side Project

Postby mikethemod1992 » Thu Apr 28, 2011 6:04 pm

So yeah, I started this today. It's a mix between a Danelectro Hodad and a Mosrite. Took about 2 hours to get this much done

Interesting! Is it three layered sheets? Did you hollow out the center?

I always wear my trusty mask... Between lacquer and all kinds of exotic wood-dust, guitar making can be pretty hazardous!

I know, right? They should write epic stories and create legends about our exploits!

Anyways, 2 days later, almost done, just have to paint it.

I am so looking forward to hearing this! My Dano is MDF and plywood, I'd be real interested to hear an all MDF guitar.
One thing that puzzles me; why no slant in the pickup? If and when I figure out the 3tone switch I'll let you know Mick. Maybe mrBill can chime in on this, he seems way more knowledgable on this whole wiring mumbo-jumbo in general, freaky Dano wiring in particular.

What do you want it to do? If I remember correctly the 3-pos switch had a factory set bass tone, then a user set tone and the third pos. was straight pickup.

Very nice! I love Danelectros and was playing mine yesterday for the first time in a long time. Danos have a very special, cool sound! I wonder how your MDF Danos compare to that trademark sound.
