Checkerboard Binding

Postby TerryTNM » Thu May 26, 2011 11:54 am

I finally found checkerboard binding. A tip of the hat to our forum member FritzCat for the help in getting it ordered. It comes from Germany
and it's quite expensive. About $23.00 USD for a 58" strip plus shipping. But it's just so cool.

Don't have a project for it just yet but it's going to be special. Here I just wrapped and taped it around a template to take a look.
The binding it self is just the checkerboard the 3 outer strips are separate pieces so you can add more strips or less.

Danny, That looks to be the same animal. On their products page it lists the binding at $35.00 per strip.

Eugen - Here's the email for the contact I had for the binding - shellklier@shellex.de Good luck, it took about a month to get it but worth the wait. I think in your location you'll do much better. It's the same used for Rickenbacher. I got the lead from their repair guy at this years NAMM show.

I've seen wood checkerboard binding before but this is the real deal.
