Greetings Forum Members - just joined and I'm hoping I can get help with my MoBro restoration project. Here's a link to my photobucket album with a bunch of pictures. http://s1134.photobucket.com/albums/m611/GuitarBuyerGuide/MosriteDobro/
Will be very appreciative of any help and advice for parts. Also general history of this guitar would be great. Serial number is D00026. Thanks!

Re: Mosrite Dobro Restoration Project
Welcome to the forum. What kind of information are you looking for and what parts are you looking for? There is a little information on my website on the Dobro/Mobro page: http://www.mosritecelebrity.com/page28.html
Or the Celebrity in general: http://www.MosriteCelebrity.com
I would like to know what your pot codes are so we can date this guitar. My first guess is 1966-67. In the photos where the control plate is flipped over I see the pots are covered in a white layer of some corrosion. If you clean them look for a number such as 1346642 or similar.

Re: Mosrite Dobro Restoration Project
By the way, I enjoyed your photo album with the great close up shots. I would start with a good cleaning of everything. If you don't mind, this is an opportunity to have a very detailed restoration of this model for my website which will help people in the future. I would love to have these same shots again when it's all clean and shiny. Also, when you've opened it up again I would appreciate some internal photos to really see how it's put together.

Re: Mosrite Dobro Restoration Project
Pot Codes - I can barely make out the number on the pots - it looks like 1346647.
Below is a second number that I think is BA811-3901
Same code on both pots. I've taken some more detailed pics of the wiring - what other interior shots would you like?
Thanks!

Re: Mosrite Dobro Restoration Project
I typed the pot code in to this site:
http://www.guitardaterproject.org/potcodereader.aspx
And this popped up:
Potentiometer Info
This potentiometer was made by
Mepco/CentraLab, Inc.
in the 47th week of 1966

That's a nice guitar! Maybe it's just me, but the resolution on the photobucket images was low. Do you have higher resolution versions? It would be great to have an archive, say, on Sarah's Celebrity site.

Re: Mosrite Dobro Restoration Project
I think you've got it! My guess would be a 1967 guitar.

That's what I'm trying to figure out! Just spoke with Artie at FrontPorch in Bakersfield to help track down service or replacement for these. Any suggestions from the group?

Re: Mosrite Dobro Restoration Project
If you are talking about the pickups, there are a few members here that can rebuild them back to original specs. I'm sure that if you ask, they will be happy to contact you.
