Eastwood Mach II vs. Hallmark II

Postby doombuggy » Wed Mar 28, 2012 9:37 pm

anyone have any experience with comparing either of these?
The Hallmark has pickups looks like are the original Mosrite style and the Eastwoods pups has what I assume Johnny Ramone replaced putting a mini hum in the neck (disconnected?!?!?!) and a Dimarzo strat pup in the rear.
Ive also seen a Fillmore model but it had strat looking pickups with solid covers like a Fender Musicmaster.
I really dont care about it being a Ramone guitar I like the whole JR simple guitar...and it being a Mosrite design.
let me know what you guys thing I should go for.

Hello and thank you for inquiring about a Hallmark. You may be interested in one of the brand new Hallmark II's. You get a great finish and the die cast Shade tremolo and a case all for the same price. See here for more details:

We can make the tremolo into a stop tail, then it can be reversed at any time. This is the best way to go.

It depends on what you want out of a guitar. Personally, I'd go for the Hallmark because they're closer to original Mosrite specs than Eastwoods are. I played an Eastwood Hi Flyer four years ago and it didn't sound or play like a Mosrite at all; The neck was fatter than a 60s Mosrite and the pickups didn't give the same tone. The body shape was comfortable but that's all I liked about it.

the Eastwood Im interested in is the MK II copy, the Eastwood Hi Flyer you are talking about is a copy of the old Univox copy and isnt supose to be a copy of the Mosrite.
