Again, thanks to all.

The weekend continued to get better as I have now entered into another phase of my musical interest from the Old 99 variety band I've been playing with, but now connecting with other musicians of my particular genre of interest, Blues. As you all have probably seen on another post, Mel, stopped by and I got to try out his new custom Gruggett built Hallmark and we jammed off and on for a couple of hours. It was an absolute great weekend and I couldn't have asked for a better time although it was totally unplanned as I was suppose to be at the Geek Fest. Life's little obstacles prevented that from happening.

As a result of attending the Blues jam at Trout's, I have since met several, actually a full band of professional musicians of the same interest and we will be meeting at my home on Saturday, January 30th at 1:PM, for an afternoon of pure Blues and some surf jamming. (We need Thunder Head to join us ;) ) We'll see where it goes from there but I'm hoping we'll come together and form a band for future gigs. I promise, I'll get back on my Mosrites for future photo's. Maybe Mel, can post some photo's of us that my wife took here at my house yesterday of he and I.

Great news, Danny! I am a fan of the blues, from Blind Blake to BB King, it's all great stuff, and I've been in several fine blues bands since the '60s.

I also reconnected in the last week or so with two of the key players in that Bakersfield country band I was in last year, Ride With Hank. I play rhythm, one of the guys is a splendid lead player, and the third guy plays pedal steel; we all double on bass and do vocals.

We are going to see if we can't get a gigging ensemble going with the three of us as the key members. I think that the Celebrity will do great in that situation, and the guys seemed to love how it sounded when we got together last week. For acoustic guitar, I have a D-41 Martin.

YAY!!!

Photos from Danny's house - first, Danny with my Partsrite, me with his Maphis model. Second, me in the process of realizing I'd have to find a way to afford this guitar! Danny's '72 bass is in the background.

hag? could be leonard nemoy too.....

Yep! That's Merle. They have several different paintings of various 1960's Bakersfield artist that made the big time. It's really strange that Trout's, having been around since the early 50's is now hosting Blues jams. I'm not even sure if there's any Country bands playing there now day's. Even Buck Owens Crystal Palace featuring the Buckaroo's, brought onboard Monte Byrom as a full time member of the band right after Buck passed away. He is one of Bakersfields best Blues players.
