The Snot Rockets

Postby ImNotJohnnyRamone » Sun Mar 28, 2010 1:25 pm

Name is just an idea for the record :)

Got kicked out MY other band... long story short, drummer was a bag of dog poo poo. Started this other one up with this girl and it seems to be going pretty well. This is just a preveiw of what I (and we) will sound like. This is Durango 95 by The Ramones. Its guitar only, no drums in my room just yet. Tell me what you folks think. Im also using a small Epiphone amp that I found with a very small Les Paul.

Not to nitpick, but.....the original clocks in at 55 seconds, your entire video is 56 seconds. Were you trying to play the live version, which clocks in at around 42 seconds? If so, you gotta play faster and play the whole song :D Play along with the record a few times, you missed a few parts. Sounding good though, keep at it.

You're off to a great start, keep it up. Listening to the Ramones is pretty much how I learned to play guitar. Still at it 19 years later.

nice guitar........keep playing........reminds me of my son when he first started playing in his room when he was about 13..distortion...metal...now he is the best lead guitar on metal I've ever seen and can play right along with the leads on Metallica, AC/DC. etc..........but I fondly remember all those hours of his persistence .......thanks for the clip.......Snot Rockets..not bad, lol....... :)

BTW, Snot Rockets is a great band name! I was making a joke about the "live" version, as the Ramones played their songs as much as 25% faster towards the end of their career.

Drummers! What is it about drummers? It's tough to find a good one who doesn't have attitude problems--actually, it's tough to find a mediocre one who doesn't have attitude problems!
What's the difference between a drummer and a drum machine? You only have to punch the information into a drum machine once...

funny story about drummers...

This kid that I played football with got a drum set, not sure how nor why, but he got one. He texted me one day after me and my bass player quit this only band we started, he said that we was looking for someone to jam with, me and Higgins (the bass player) said we would, we only needed a drummer to complete a band. Things went pretty good. Carted my 40 watt to his house and played. Got an infected gum while at his house and left at 10AM he texted me saying that I never come over to jam and we need to get better, were in the talent show. We were only about 3 weeks old! Not ready for a show! He didnt care. He texted me like 2 weeks after I left early and said he kicked me out, of MY OWN BAND and said he was band leader. What he did was smoke my... I mean use my awesomeness of cool, steal my bass player and a very bad butt song and kicked me out. I went to the talent show then played with a yellow shirt, on said shirt, I wrote "I Hate The 8th Day" they got mad, drummer wanted to beat me down! Higgins, got PO'd and left that band for a new one. The 8th Day, lost a good punk guitar player (lies, I suck) and a bass player. Drummers, they suck.
