I've played in pop bands, cover bands, rock bands, an Irish band, we always played 4 sets per night at the rate of 40 minutes on 20 off although we would stretch a bit to get the night to end up at closing time for the venue we were at. Usually 40 to 45 songs would get you through comfortably, in the Irish band we could easily play 6 hours with the repertoire the dublin guys had. I do solo work sometimes, actually I don't know how many songs I know, I just play and do requests if asked, I love it so much I could play all night if they let me.

When I was gigging pretty regularly in the 90s, we played 50 minute sets with 20 minute breaks. Sometimes 2 sets, other joints wanted 3 sets. You need a minimum of 40 tunes down cold. Preferable 60. Once you've got 100plus songs down, you can start rotating them in and out of your set lists just to keep life interesting for the band.
Today, I'm lucky to get practice time at home, much less gig. Gotta admit, I miss gigging, but it's simply not in the cards at this point in my life.
