Hey Is that an actual 1965 Ventures II?
The vibrato is there, the colour seems to be different to the Sheena and the headstock decal doesn't look like Hallmark?
Could it be??

Like Danny says, it's a Sheena model. The guitar belongs to Garrett Immel, and according to him, it's the Hallmark production prototype, and it's an awesome guitar. I think he put the Ventures II vibrato on there himself.

Gotta hand it to Deke on capturing Johnnys style and tone. My only complaint is that I bet I would have had time to take a nap between songs compared to the real thing! As Joe Strummer once said, you couldn't fit a matchbook between their songs. Great job Deke, but I have one question; which requires more stamina, your style or Johnnys? :D Very sorry I missed this show.

It was actually way more challenging than i thought to nail that Johnny thing....it's all about the brutal intensity and stamina. Sure, down strokes and power chords are easy....for 30 seconds! Try doing it about 300 times a minute for 25 minutes!

Wouldn't Fatty Ramone be more correct? And Johnny did it for an hour and 15 minutes. Again, great job Deke. Feel free to play my Red original Ventures II any time you're in the Chicago area, you rule!

As for that toilet seat guitar, did that belong to Chinga Chavin of "Country Porn"?

I see. The fact that it's a prototype explains that some things are a bit different. It's just my nerd-eyes spooking around.

Sorry, I just got a bit suspicious for a second there.

I have no idea how Johnny Ramone did that for an hour and 15 minutes. I guess the only thing you can say is that if you're putting out that much energy and adrenalin every night for 25 years, no wonder they Johnny (and Joey and Dee Dee) died when they were in their early 50's!!

Those country cats that just stand there and play effortlessly live to be 90-something, I think I'll stick with them now that I've done my Ramones tribute, ha ha!

So does that mean that I will live to be 90 something? I play Classic Country and don't jump around at all. I just stand and play and was asked a few years back after playing Blue Spanish Eyes if I was awake during the song.

Wish I could have been there to see your show Deke. Maybe some year now that I know I should live to be 90. LOL
