The Breakaways CD's

Just received my copy from fellow Forum member “CraigSkelly” and guitarist of The Breakaways. I can highly recommend this cd. The Breakaways exhibit their professional and matured rendering of the Surf Sound and beyond with their own creative and pleasing signature sound coming through clearly. Having a third guitarist in the group definitely adds to the richness in sound.
If you like the Ventures, you’ll have no problem enjoying The Breakaways; it’s like you’ve always known them too.

I’m very excited about the choice of tracks here; many new tunes to me and even the one or two familiar tunes sound fresh and crisp. I must have heard Apache cover versions about a thousand times now and this version by the Breakaways definitely stands out from most. Their arrangement is different, new but most pleasing and does not detract from the original concept, it makes you want to give it another spin –as I just did, that’s how good.

Besides the very appealing cover art, the recording of this cd is of a superb quality with all the highs and lows of tones that emanate from their gorgeous Vintage Fender guitars and amps. Ride the waves with these dudes even if you can’t surf, like myself.

Get your hands on this cd. You can visit The Breakaways here http://www.thebreakaways.com/

…and BTW, the tune you get to hear is called “SHARK BREATH” which is on the cd too…of course! Time to catch my breath…

Thanks Craig

Having met Craig Skelly, I have to say he is one of the super nicest individuals you will ever meet. It only makes his music that much more enjoyable.

We are fortunate to have a lot of great musicians as well as other talented members on this forum.
