My old band's reunion
This is from a benefit show Feb. 20th for St. Jude Hospital. My old group, Edgewood, reunited after 38 years for this gig. That's me with my Hallmark 60 Custom, arguably the best looking instrument on stage. I got several nice comments on it. Believe me, it was the only one there that night!!!

Great pic and a special event jtarbutn! Have the other guys of your old group always kept 'at it' during all those in-between years?

Wow..that's great jtarbutn! .......beautiful guitar and it must have been such a kick to get together again.......I'd love doing that with my old bands, but only after a few months of practice.....
......wouldn't want to embarrass ourselves too much!

Re: My old band's reunion
Hey--
At the Naples (Florida) High School Class of 1970 reunion in April, we are supposed to resurrect one of our high-school bands. I am looking forward to it!
The plan is to have an informal acoustic jam at an informal BBQ on Friday night, and then a full-blown electric guitar ensemble for the dinner Saturday night.
It will be fun, if not particularly musical!
Interestingly, one of the guitar players had a Mosrite Ventures model during those days, and I had a single-pickup Mosrite bass a year or so later. There were a good number of Mosrites in South Florida back then, and very early Naples rock band called the Banana Factory was an all-Mosrite band.

Re: My old band's reunion
jtarbutn,
That is so cool. I'd give my right arm to be able to link up with members of the band from my high school years. I've searched the internet, contacted old acquaintances and exhausted all possibilities of finding them. For me, forty seven years has been simply too long to wait to try and resurrect memebers from the old band. But I still hope.

Hey, Dennis--
Well, since you ASKED: Here is a 1960s photo of the Banana Factory band: L to R: Jack Briggs, Russ Clarke, Craig Jaworski, Vince Wood, Susie Dysert & Bill Meek.

That is the bass I bought after the BF broke up. It used to be in my avatar.
And, a poster from the band I was in, Boy Howdy, circa 1973 or so:

Re: My old band's reunion
5 of the 6 original members of the group performed that night. We also added some people for this show. Everyone rehearsed on their own and we did 3 rehearsals together. Here are pictures of us in 1972 and after the show in 2010. What a blast this was!

Re: My old band's reunion
This is great! Love seeing photos of old bands.....I just learned thru my old drummer that the other guitar player in one of my bands in the mid 60's is living only in the next town from me........haven't seen each other for 45 yrs or so....he was also a Ventures freak like me, and we played lots of their songs....One of these days we'll get together to jam for fun....
So nice to see some of us re-connecting with the old band members and even doing gigs........fantastic!
