Formally known as the Sheena & the Road to Ruin models, now they are official Johnny Ramone licensed guitars. It apears the only difference is the signature on the pick guard. They look great.
Congradulations to Bob Shade for landing the Johhny Ramone estate signature model.
Personally, I prefer these guitars to the Fillmore Ramones release. These guitars are modeled after the original Mosrite that Johnny played instead of the Mosrtie that Johnny turned it into.
I think as one of the very first Sheena model owners, I should be allowed to purchase a pick guard.

I wonder if this leaves us nearer or farther from a Sheena with a vibrato?

Nope. This is on the JRA website:
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHNNY RAMONE!
In honor of Johnny's Birthday, today October 8th 2010, the JRA is proud to announce ..."
Then they go on to describe the guitars.

Also, click on "click here for the full story". They mention a special headstock with a portrait of Johnny (which I don't see in the photos), a camouflage finish (also not in the photos), etc. I bought a Sheena about a month ago. Not too bummed about not having the Signature pickguard, but the Ramones logo guitar case would be cool. Curious about the other options and accessories that will be available though...

Re: Hallmark New Johnny Ramone Sig model blue & white guitar
Hey--
First off, I have to admit that I am not a big Ramones fan and don't know all that much about them, in spite of the efforts of many of my friends and musical buddies trying to educate me.
That being said, I was over at Hallmark World Headquarters a month or so ago talking to Bob Shade about some other stuff, and he brought out the Hallmark blue guitar that recreates what Johnny Ramone played.
So I'm sitting there, playing country and Motown and Beatles stuff on it, unamped, and I was surprised how resonant and how loud it was unplugged. Not too many solidbody guitars sound like that, in my opinion. So I asked Bob to bring out some other solidbody Hallmarks so I could compare this blue one to those.
The other guitars sounded fine, but they did not have the quality that one blue one did.
I don't know if it was a quality of that single guitar, or if all the blues ones have it, or what. And I don't know if it was caused by the body's wood, or the bridge, which had a different plate thing than I recall seeing on a Hallmark or Mosrite.
I'm supposed to go over in the morning to take a few photos and talk over some business stuff with Bob, and I'll try to remember to ask him about that.
After that, I have to pay a shiva call at a friend's house and am frankly nervous about that. I may try to get Bob to go with me, because he knows the guy from his high-school days. I fear I am going to say or do the wrong thing, because I always do. I looked up the dos-and-donts on Google, but it is a lot to remember.

I love playing country on my Sheena, more so than playing Ramones sorta stuff on it. The Deke signature still beats it when it comes to country though.

Yeah, Tommy; if I had any sense at all, that is what I would play.
Bob has even mentioned that to me more than once.

The pickups on the Deke model are phenomenal, seriously. Of all my guitars those pickups are right up there with the Lollar P90s and the white DeArmonds.
