To bring this around back on topic, how many variations of the 60 Custom have there been?

Here's a draft of versions, including unique finishes. Maybe we can get a head start on the future speculation and start compiling SNs to know when the changes happened - or maybe Bob can fill us in. :)

Version 1: plastic string guide, special sparkle finishes

Version 2: metal string guide, red silver blue finish

Version 3: reshaped lower bout carve, Surf Pearl finish

Hallmark should do the Maphis 6 12 double neck clone and sell it in the 1400 price range is that possible?

+1 Brutus, or a Deke Dickerson doubleneck with options of octave 6 string or normal 12 string.

The Surf Pearl is just beautiful, I have to say it again. It is very tempting, I don't really want a vintage Mosrite Mark I (Or even a Mark V) Right now because of it. I could buy one now but at the same time I have to hold out for that one rare 70s Mosrite. After that, Who knows? I may buy a Surf Pearl after that.

+1 on the doublenecks! If they did that, Hallmark would be getting even more of my hard-earned $$. 6/12 string would be my preference, but the 6/octave setup would be cool too.

what's the reshape on the lower bout carve? I don't see that.

Fellow, please. If you keep coming up with great ideas for new Hallmarks, it could possibly distract Bob from making what I have been bugging him to next make: A 60s Custom BASS, in either medium (32") or long (34") scale.

Those babies would sell like hotcakes.

Since it was my idea, I should get the first one free, in sunburst, please. Or maybe pearl-white with a tortoiseshell pickguard. But those candy-apple red finishes also look great, so I should get three free ones for having such a great and original idea.

But I also like that inky-blue finish, so four free ones should do it.

I may be in the doghouse, but please remember: Since I am from Washington, DC, I automatically know what is best for the rest of the world.

Thanks so much--

Jim, we wouldn't want to distract Bob, now would we? ;) .....Plus the fact that after all the god-awful snowfall you've had to endure lately, it would only seem right to receive some free guitars and bass.........but let's wait til Bob gets my order done, so he isn't distracted ...... :D .....
Even though you live in Washington, DC, and have all the answers for the rest of the world, I am a libra, and have a God-given, natural sense of justice, which may override your gift of omniscience for all.......

Leave it to Roger to use a word we here in Washington have never heard of!

>>all the god-awful snowfall you've had to endure lately . . .

It was a snowfall that really crippled this area, and the snow is still a couple of feet high on the borders of most of the streets, and snow-moving trucks have piled it a lot higher than that in some places. I actually got to go to both my band practices this week, but last week I started out for both and had to turn back because the roads were so dangerous.

I believe it's fair to say that this area has never seen anything like this before.
