Iv'e own a few Mosrites and love the body, trem & pickups but the necks were just to small and thin . Do the Hallmark 59/60 or the Deke Dickerdon model come with bigger neck? Thank John.

Yessir - They don't have that slim profile neck that the Mosrites have. A little better if you don't have the hands for a vintage Mo ....

I know that they are 15/8 wide but whats the depth of their necks? Also what were the dimensions of the original Mosrite neck? Thaks again.

I have big hands and played Strats and Teles {big frets and heavy strings}for 20 years before getting my first Mosrite. I thought at first how am I going to play this thing I think the Speed Frets further add to the smallness factor of Mosrite necks. My original 1965 MI actually has a pretty big shoulder profile, but still narrow spacing. I found it really took dedicating to the Mosrite and "Learning" to play those necks. After 6 Months it was no problem and actually for the style of music I use them for it is better. My Hallmark 60 Custom is wider and falls between the Mosrite and my Fender Jazzmaster. The Hallmark also has a little bigger Fret which allows for a bigger string if you choose. I firmly believe the Speed Frets are more suited for light strings.Try putting in the time all you Mosrite Lovers

I agree with Billy that the original Mosrites worked best with really light strings. I believe that Nokie has always used 09's. People say you can't do bends with the low frets, but with light strings you can. Listen to Nokie's mid 60's stuff -he was bending all over the place, on those Mosrites. I've read that Don Wilson hated the Mosrite necks, as he needed to play barr chords up high on the neck, and he had big hands. The original Mosrite necks took some getting used to. They required a light touch, and a little more finesse -but in the right hands could put out surprisingly heavy sounds, because of the pickups. The Hallmark neck is a nice compromise between the Mosrite and the beefier Fender necks. If you have big, fat fingers and want to be Dick Dale with monster strings, get a Strat or a Jazzmaster -or, if you can find one, a Bluesbender.

The neck depth on the Hallmark Custom 60 is slim. It is close to my '83 AVRI '57 Strat. If you've ever played the early, Fullerton made AVRI Strats, you will know what I mean by slim. Otherwise, I would compare it to some of the slim necks I've felt on some Gibson SGs or ES335s. Bob has a unique shape on the frets that I like: they are small frets shaped triangular. You can get good bends out of them, yet when you run your hand up and down the neck it doesn't feel like railroad crossties. I also have one of the Wildwood Thin Skin RI Strats and the 6105 frets make for a bumpy ride when doing surfy glissandos, but are fantastic for doing the SRV thing.

Doesn't Wosrite make some Bluesbenders? I think I saw Bluesbender parts for sale on Tym's site.

Well, They don't make Bluesbenders but they do make bodies and necks.
