Close to $180 was the estimated price for a bridge from hi-tone. Nice guy though. I asked him if there were any Mosrite Slab bodys with trem and original-esque pickups available, and he told me they had one in stock that wasn't on the website. Sunburst. (Not a vintage one, new one, but discontinued model) But he wanted $2000 for it so I skipped it for now. Might be intresting later this year though, after I moved.

I'm still thinking of getting the bridge from them. It's a lot of money, but I need a bridge, and from what information I've gathered the Hallmark bridge is a tiny bit wider, and it doesn't really look right. This way I get a real, new, fresh Mosrite-bridge.. And I can pick it up just 60 miles from my home.

A lot of the price in the new mosrites seems to be in the bridge... sadly.

Clearly you haven't priced out a Vibramute!

The price of a finished guitar is never greater than the sum of it's parts if you're buying one of everything, one at a time. If parts were cheap, everyone would put one together themselves. I'd say that at least 99% of all amateur built guitars would never sell for a profit. And I actually doesn't really care anymore about how much money I put into this guitar. I want to play it, and the only way to do that is to build it, and if that means paying $200 for the bridge, well, then that's what I'll do.
And when I'm done I'll buy a real Mosrite as well.

Just out of cuiosity though. What's the price of a Vibramute if one could find one?

There's one on eBay right now - starting bid @ $390 (I think). Semie Moseley's brother Andy is selling it - a brand new 1984 Vibramute.

That's a great deal, though I expect it will go for more. There's a 60s Moseley trem without the arm on there for $499, and our friend in Vegas sells the Fillmore units for $750.

I agree about building to play rather than for profit. I love my parts-rite!

Just a reminder for anyone that is thinking about installing a Fillmore Vibramute on a USA made Mo,'
the drilled holes on the unit WILL NOT LINE UP CORRECTLY.......Metric versus Standard size fitting.
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

Eipä kestä :)

It's nice to hear that they are able to deliver parts also. Haven't needed any myself yet, but you never know.

There aren't too much Mosrites available over here. Some years back a finnish company called Levytukku imported some Mosrites, but not anymore. They sold the Excellent '65 model (from Black CLoud?) and a Ramo'ed Mark II slab body model (from Fillmore, I believe). The used market over here for Mosrites is limited to say the least, but sometimes these models pop up.

All the best with your project!

PS. My swedish is not that great, to tell you the truth. I know lots of swedish speaking people in Finland, but they are so polite that they switch to finnish when a finnish speaking person enters the conversation. Therefore I haven't used the language almost at all after high school.
This concludes my report from outer space. Now, back to studio!
