It's an Australian marsupial. Several years ago I needed a user name for another forum. I asked my four year old son, who was enamored by robots that week for a suggestion. He suggested "Wobop" but I wasn't feeling it. Wombat then came to my mind, so I went with it! :D

Being Australian I was wondering about your user name. I didn't think Wombats were well known in other parts of the world.
Pretty much like Goannas or Kookaburras in that respect.

I love the Kookaburra song! I'm familar with Wombats but the only reference to Goannas that I can recall is the Crododile Dundee movie. ;)

I play guitar at church, and although a solid body Mosrite is what I'd really like to have the most, I enjoy hollowbody electrics, and I think that it would be fun to have a Gospel model!

Does anyone here own one?

There are a couple of forum owners with Gospels and currently one for sale on eBay for $1,800. I've played them and would love to own one. I would say they are pretty much the same thing as a Celebrity-I. 2 3/4" deep bout and the deluxe trimmings. I would also love to have a Celebrity-I from 1973 or 74 with the phase switches. The Gospels will fetch a bit more money than the Celebrity-I due to it's scarcity, etc.

Welcome, Wombat. Enjoy the forum and its folks. Bob Shade (of Hallmark guitars) now owns the Gospel name, and is building these guitars, if interested.

I own a '77 Gospel and it's a terrific instrument. The one Sarah referred to as for sale is owned by a fellow forum member, mosriteforever.

I did see the Gospel on E-bay a few days ago.
I like it! Unfortunately I can't justify the purchase right now.

Kerry,

Really enjoyed your intro, had to read it again.

I don't own a Gospel yet I have played a lot of Church Music and yes, that would be a fun guitar to have!

If you don't mind my asking, do you like more traditional or contemporary, and welcome to The

Mosrite Forum!
