OK mister Latvis,
you are now receiving a speeding ticket for breaking the guitar manufacturing speed limit

Wow, that is fantastic, Semie Moseley could have well used you in the Mosrite factory during those busy 60's years!
The mosriTELE is already looking great!

I don't think I said it earlier so welcome to the Mosrite forum. Also, Great looking Telerite. What are you going to put on as a finish, Are you going to have a natural finish on it?

Unfortunately I cannot spray anything because I live in 5th floor of basic apartment. (Neighbours like me already very much because I love router sound in the sunday mornings :-)

I just use some maple/mahogany mixed stains + Danish Oil + Beewax. This is not good because the body is very soft Finnish Adler (if you have coins & keys in the pocket you will get dings..."Best way to fix dings is to tap the side opposite of the ding, with a hammer."). Neck is maple and the fingerboard is Bloodwood (from lmii.com). It is beautiful and very hard but tears easily and seems that I am allergic to its dust.

Take a look - after 20 hours of work my first attempt to built Mosrite-like is now ready http://www.rockdata.org/Latvis_mosri-te-le.jpg. (zoom photo to 100%). I am quite satisfied to this quick one (balance is good, action is low and 20 Euros Tele pickup set sounds suprising good). This is just basic "will-soon-just-hanging-on-the-wall" guitar for my old school friend from 80s who has 50th anniversary next weekend. I think that this one will never go to any real live situation... after my short birthday gig...

BTW. I know my first copy is really far away from real Mosrite (or Tele) but has some things from both. I will build another one with some more odd ideas I got building this http://www.rockdata.org/Latvis_mosri-te-le.jpg .

All the best

Thanks for the comments.

I know that those chrome washers on scratchplate are a little bit too much (too big and too many) but I couldn't find another ones AND this guitar needs some "rock style". The color and figures in adler are too lame. BTW. It is not original thinline scratchplate - I have to scale and modify little. After waiting glue/oil/wax to dry the fretting was the hardest part. Another time consuming task was bone nut and fret levelling. I really need some professional tools...

Those chickenhead knobs are another thing of taste but I like them because you see easily the levels and they are so nostalgic

Actually, I find they look quite good, especially on the black pickguard! Chrome and black always seem to go so well together. I always love the combination of chrome and black...so timeless and cool 8-)

The washers are making a bold statement in a way and perhaps they are saying: "we've been neglected far too long and have always had to settle for second place i.e. on the rear of a guitar (bolt-on necks) where we're not being noticed by the audiences". You may be starting a new trend Latvis; "me like!" ;)
