Hi. I am a used vinyl record store owner in Green Bay, WI. I also play guitar and have a new obsession for FUZZZZZZ. Hence my joining this forum to search out info on the elusive Mosrite Fuzz Rite. There is some great info here! Also today I won a Moserite Fuzz Rite on Ebay. It's supposed to be a 60's version---but it is awfully clean! Perhaps I'll start a thread and post pics. 'Til then, Jim.

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on the FuzzRite score. There are (amazingly) still some unused fuzzes that pop up on eBay occasionally. Andy Moseley (Semie's brother) was selling them off one at a time. You're on track - lots of great research info on here.

Hi--yes I have one of those clones-- the Fuzzbrite. Nice pedal! Here's a link to the EBAY Mosrite I won today. Yep---lot 'o dough..... but it appears to be the germanium version. Having a look at the auction, I'm not certain of the provenance of the pedal you're getting. It looks too new to be from the 60s, and the seller's description says only that he got it from the original owner, and that he's apparently never seen an Eveready battery before, as he thinks it's a vintage duracell. That being said, it's possible that it's still a Mosrite pedal, either from the 80s/90s or from the NOS cache that Andy Moseley has had around. Even if it's not that, it's still a solid looking replica, and hopefully sounds as good as it plays. Actually, since this pedal has the "M" knobs with the "V" and "T" (volume and tone) on them, it's much more likely that it's at least made from factory parts, as I'm not aware of any reproductions of these.

Once you get the pedal, please post more about it in the Amps and Accessories forum and we can continue the discussion there.

I guess I'd disagree with Mel here and say that the Fuzzrite that you got is original and old.

Looking at the board, this is a germanium version circuit. I've seen a number of these and everything looks correct to my eyes. All of the parts appear to be of the correct vintage and also appear to be the correct parts used by Mosrite in the 60's.

As Mel pointed out, the knobs are the correct short Derby Hat type with "T" and "V" markings. These were used in the mid 60's units.

When you get the unit in your hands, I'd love to know how it sounds and what the pot dates and values are.

Yes, please, when you get the pedal, let us know what you think, and please start up a thread about it in the Amps and Accessories forum. And Mr. Bill may be right, I've never seen one in person so I'm judging only from photos I've seen.
