I just was going through the intros. of all and noticed I never did one on myself. I guess it is time.
I am currently a working country guitar player. I started out playing Rock from back in the day ( Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Animals and so on) and Loved listening to the Ventures, Duane Eddy, Chet Atkins and others. My cousin was the first and only one around here that had a Mosrite guitar. It was in 1967 and was a Combo in tri burst color. I loved the sound and had seen them on the cover of my Ventures Recodes.( Yes I said records) Well it was many years later that I bought my first Mosrite. It was a Celebrity model. It was ok but not what I wanted. Then along came a 12 string Combo that I played a while and as the Celb it was gone. I then bought a (and have kicked myself in the a.. for not keeping it) 6/12 double neck in try burst and it was great. I played it for several years and it was so heavy that I sold it. Now I didn't buy any guitars back then with collecting in mind so I guess that is why they went away. It was a long time before I walked into a music store and found the Ventures model that had been striped and was a mess. I bought it for almost nothing( they weren't that big a deal at that time...1980's) and took it home and repaired everything on it and even talked with Semi over the phone on parts I needed for it.He sent everything out COD and I had a great playing Mosrite Mark1 Ventures model. That would have been in the late 80's and a number of years later I got fed up with the band I was in and gave up playing for over 10 years. In the late 90's and not playing and no intentions of ever playing again I sold it. In fact I sold everything but a small fender amp and a Gretsch CG guitar. Around 2004 I got my guitar out for the first time in years and started playing around the house and thought I would give it another shot at playing in a band. Glad I did and now both my wife and I play together in the band. You guessed it my quest for another real Mosrite started. By now they were almost priced beyond what I could spar so I bought a Hallmark and love it even though it just misses the true Mosright sound. I heard about Curtis and bought everything from him and now even though it isn't a Semi build Mosrite it is as close as I will come and it is all Semi parts. It is a great playing guitar and I an so happy that I made it.So that is a brief update on my Mosrite trials and tribulations and who knows what the future will bring. Buy the way I was just as stupid with Gretsch guitars over the years.(68 White Falcon Stereo and a 74 Super Chet that are now gone).

Speaking of which, the forum is about to have its one year anniversary soon. It would be cool if there was a way to get us all together and party it up and have a big jam session.

Re: Not new but never filled out introduction
You're so right.
I recently checked out a few other guitar forums and from what I've seen they seem to be populated by nothing but ill mannered school kids who just like heaping abuse on each other.
I don't think Semie would tolerate that here.
Bill.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's great to be a part of a forum where every one gets along and has no bad blood between them and share the same love and passion and can discuss that passion in a civil manner. And I commend Danny for creating a vehicle in which for us to do so.
