Konk of Sweden

Postby Konk of Sweden » Thu Jun 11, 2009 5:14 pm

Hi there. A quick introduction from me.
I'm a 27 year old guitarist from Sweden who loves to build and modify guitars. My most recent build is a custom 12 string Les Paul Lawsuit (based on an Ibanez body and a Grassroots neck, both 6 string).
10 years ago I started building a Mosrite Ventures II clone based on Johnny Ramones. However I was unable to get a bridge that matches the rest, so it was put in the closet. Now I want to finish it. And maybe make it more of an original than a Ramones-clone.

I mostly joined this forum to get my hands a bridge for it, since the Mosrite neck is so thin a standard tune o matic won't work.

I noticed a thread about Hallmark Guitars bridges, and that they fit on the Mosrites as well, and contacted them to see if they would ship one to sweden, and they would. I just want to make shure that their strings are spaced similarily as on an original Mosrite. And I hope this forum answers me faster and correctly. So I don't spend $100 plus shipping and import tax on something that won't work.
Or if anyone here has a spare, original, bridge to sell to me I'd rather use that one since it's real. I'm trying to keep costs down though as I'm moving to a new apartment where I'll have a real workshop for guitars. And really doesn't have the time to build another guitar, but what can you do when you want to? Right?

My clone has a neck from a Celebrity III, witch seems to be the same neck, or pretty darn close (TR adjustment at head is the only difference I can see), to the Ventures I'm cloning. So the bridge should work for me if it works on a real one.

Feel free to contact me if you want to help me. I'll post in the correct forumparts tomorrow about the bridge. Just wanted to get my presentation in so I won't get banned for not saying anything. And maybe get a quick and easy reply if someone knows and happens to see this.

Thanks, and I hope to become a real regular here. I have nothing but love for Mosrites and will hopefully get my hands on a real one someday soon. Not so many of them ever got to sweden though.

Hejssan Konk och välkommen till Mosrite forum :D

Hi-Tone Music imports Mosrites to Sweden. I have never contacted them, but it might be worthwhile to ask them if they have any bridges or other parts available.

This concludes my report from outer space. Now, back to studio!

Kiitos Chemo. Nice to see some more peope from over here. I remember seeing that website a few weeks ago, but had forgotten about it. I e-mailed them and got a quick reply. They can get one for me, but they say it's going to be a bit expencive. But I was ready to pay $105+swedish taxes for a Hallmark so I hope the real Mosrite bridge won't be that much more from hi-tone.

And may I say: "Ei saa peitää" ;) My finish is not as good as your swedish... sorry.
