Great to be here on the forum. I am the proud parent of a 1965 Sunburst Vibramute, a Jonas Ridge '63 RI Sunburst Set-Neck, Side-Jack with Semie Mosleys initials in the fingerboard and a brand new Hallmark Pearl White 60 Custom. They plugg into a 1964 Fender Reverb Unit, Mosrite BG500, 1964 Fender Super Reverb, 1964 Fender Vibroverb, 1965 Fender Bassman 2/10 combo, 1965 Fender Vibrochamp, 1967 Fender Vibratone. I play in the Premiere Appalachian Surf Band, "The ThunderHeads" and the only Appalachian Surf Band!!!! That's a nice set up you have and your band plays some great sounding cover tunes. Glad to have you on the forum and would love to hear a comparison review between your '63 RI and the Hallmark.

Welcome, Thunderhead! I, too, own a 60 Custom Pearl White, no mods done - and I am still impressed with the guitar, and especially the affordability. Don't know how these stay under everyone's radar - they're quality and very playable + priced right. Enjoy the Forum. Great bunch og people here.

Thanks Guys!! Great to be here on the forum. To answer the question about the Hallmark VS the '83 Mosrite, lets just say there is nothing like the real thing. that being said I do really love the Hallmark, it's an all around great "working" Guitar. We played an outdoor show today in 90 plus degree weather and I was very thankful I didn't have to take my Nitro-Finished Mosrites out there. The "83 came from a man that worked in the Jonas Ridge Factory and was NOS with the tags on it when I got it two years ago. I am less than an hour from Jonas Ridge and had heard that there were a few NOS 63 RI Mosrites still around. The story I got was Semie gave some of the first ones to employees to settle debts. It has serial number 0166 and under that SM. It is very special and I baby it. I recently got a Mosrite BG 500 that is in very rough cosmetic shape but sounds Killer. I had thought about chopping the Cab to make it a more managable size, it is Huge!!!!!! But I'm afraid it will change the tone, anybody have an opinion????

Housing the Mosrite BG 500's guts temporarily in another cabinet (perhaps a custom made one in optional combo or amp- head/speaker cabinet configuration) and storing the original Cab for later reunification -as is- or after possible restoration.
There is a risk in this method however, since it has been said that "there is nothing more permanent than temporarily"

Maybe Vaughn ("Vec") can chip in later; he’s an amp builder…
